GLASWERK STUDIO CAMİŞ is a studio focused on stained glass art and education. As the light changes throughout the day, it reveals new qualities in the glass. The lines joining the pieces give the design its rhythm.
02 / Stained glass
Turn a sketch into a composition that can be cut into individual pieces of glass.

Hold the glass up to the light to see how color, texture, and translucency work together.

Cut and shape the glass. Join the pieces using your chosen technique to complete the pattern.

03 / Training
For your first piece, start with a pattern that has only a few shapes. Plan your cut lines, check your glass choices in the light, and lay the pieces over the pattern before joining them.
Simple geometric shapes make a good starting pattern. Focus on shapes you can cut cleanly before adding detail.
With copper foil, each glass edge is wrapped in foil before the pieces are soldered together. With lead came, the pieces fit into channels in strips of lead.
04 / Training and stay
Four hours of stained glass practice and teaching each day, Monday to Friday (10:00–12:00 and 14:00–16:00). Plan your time at the Dalyan workshop with optional accommodation, home-cooked meals and a cultural excursion.
Sending a request does not hold a place. Once the studio confirms a provisional reservation by email, it is held for five working days. A booking is confirmed only after payment reaches the account.

05 / Artist
GLASWERK STUDIO CAMİŞ brings together objects shaped by glass, light and personal meaning.
Benian Yetgin (maiden name Camis) continues a family legacy in glass craftsmanship that dates back to 1921 in Istanbul. Founded by her great-grandparents, the Camis workshop evolved over decades into a glass production facility serving the domestic market across Istanbul and Türkiye until 1974.
As a third-generation member of the family, Benian’s early life was shaped between cultures. She spent her youth in Germany, developing a European perspective on lifestyle, design, and artistic expression. In her mid-twenties, she returned to Istanbul, where she balanced her professional career as an HR manager at a German company with raising her two children.
Her return to glass was deliberate. Settling in Çeşme, on Türkiye’s western coast, she began an intensive journey into stained glass art. Over a period of five years, she trained under university art professors and worked closely with one of Türkiye’s most respected handcrafted stained glass artists—an ongoing collaboration that continues to inform her practice.
Through this process, Benian re-established the Camis name, shifting its focus from industrial production to artistic glasswork. Today, her work reflects both heritage and transformation—combining traditional techniques with a contemporary understanding of form, material, and light.
